What: COSRX Make Me Lovely Cushion, 15g
Price & Where: 850 PHP at my local Watson's
Hello, everyone~ In this post I'm gonna review COSRX's Make Me Lovely Cushion. My first ever cushion was eye-opening and since then, I've been itching to try another one. I saw this at Watson's and bought it blindly without reading reviews. Read on to see how it went for me!

How It Looks Like

First of all, let's look at the packaging. The box is a simple, no-frills, pastel-themed box. It's just a plain box and there's no extra refill inside.

The compact case mirrors the design on the box. It's thick and fits snugly in my hand.

The case is made of plastic and it's sufficiently heavy but COSRX still needs to improve the quality a lot. In my case, the front sticker was already falling off when I got it out the box! They need stronger materials.

After opening, you'll see the antibacterial sponge sitting on its tray. Underneath is the sealed container holding the product.

The cushion contains 15g of foundation. That's a lot! I barely pressed the surface with my finger and it immediately dispensed a lot on the spot where I touched it.

About the Product

From Althea's description, the Make Me Lovely Cushion claims to be brightening and hydrating while protecting our skin from the sun with its SPF 50+ PA+++. It contains green tea water to minimize oils and to maximize hydration. This is supposed to give your skin smooth and complete coverage plus it doesn't wear off easily - perfect for a long day out!

Ingredients:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Cyclohexasiloxane, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Octocrylene, Zinc Oxide, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Quaternium-18 Bentonite, 1,2 Hexanediol, Dimethicone, Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Aluminum Hydroxide (CI 77002), Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Water, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Adenosine, Perfume (Cosdna analysis here)

So far, looks like only one shade (No 21.5) is available. COSRX describes it as a peachy beige.

COSRX has a huge following (me included), but you know what, I wish I didn't impulse buy. Hahahaha! As you can see above, the shade is way too light for my skin (I am NC30-35-ish). It has a pinkish undertone and since I have warm skin, this made my skin look grey. I think this will suit those who have fairer skin better.

While we're at it - the foundation looks dense and thick but when blended thoroughly, it looked sheerer and not as opaque as my swatch above. I still think it looks too light on me but if this shade matches you, I bet it would look very natural. The finish is semi-matte.

The coverage is minimal. It's enough to even out my skin and cover redness but it wasn't able to hide my moles. They say coverage is buildable so I tried covering the moles by patting more product on top. I don't really recommend it because the result looks cakey. Better just use a concealer.

Products with high SPF tend to leave flashback and this cushion is no exception. See pic above, omg. Just look at the white cast! You should avoid flash picture taking whenever you wear this.

I didn't test the cushion's performance beyond this point since I don't think I'll wear it again but I hope this still helped somehow!

Will I Repurchase?

COSRX is a Korean brand so I understand that their target market are Koreans who are generally naturally pale. However, I hope they'll expand their collection and release new shades in the future. If not, I don't think I'll buy this again. After my initial impressions, I gave this to my sister who has lighter complexion than me and she also thought that it's too light even for her.

If you have warm medium skin like me, I suggest looking for other cushion options. Like I said, this would probably suit fair-skinned people better.

Tried this? How's your experience?
