Yoko Whitening Spa Salt For Armpit & Bikini Area Review

Hello, guys! How are you? I grabbed this Yoko Whitening Spa Salt on a whim when I was out shopping in a supermarket. Salt scrubs are an off/on staple in our bathroom but I haven't tried this brand yet nor have I seen a salt scrub that specifically targets the armpit and bikini area. I'm on a quest to transform my dark pits, so for you girls like me, here's my review!

About the Product

Yoko Whitening Spa Salt For Armpit & Bikini Area Review
WHAT: Yoko Whitening Spa Salt For Armpit & Bikini Area
PRICE: 39 PHP at Unitop
Product Description:
Whitening Spa Salt enriched with Vitamin E and natural herbal extracts. It can remove dirt deposits and dead skin cells from the armpit and bikini area effectively giving you a new radiant skin, feeling clean and soft, helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkly skin. Dramatically effective for your Armpit and Bikini area within 7 days.

Directions:
Pour spa salt on your hand, rub gently in circular motion on wet skin, leave it on your skin for 3 minutes and then rinse off with clean water. After use, you can feel your skin's softness and  smoothness.

Ingredients:
Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Acanthus Ebracteatus Vahl Powder, Fragrance, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Curcuma Longa Powder, Rhinacanthus Nasutus Powder, Andrograhis Paniculata Powder, Sapindus Mukurossi Powder, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), CI 14720, CI 19140, CI 42090

Salt is, of course, the first in the ingredients list. There's glycerin and olive oil for moisture plus powders from plant extracts. Niacinamide is the whitening ingredient while Vitamin E is there as an antioxidant and skin conditioner.

My Experience

The salt scrub comes in a 220g resealable plastic pouch. The salt inside is yellowish in color - it looks like brown sugar but much finer in texture.

I love the smell of the salt. I can detect something floral and something ginger-ish in it so I looked up the scientific names and learned that the scrub contains jasmine and turmeric. Hmmm, that explains the scent and why the scrub is yellow!

If you're worried about staining, no need to worry because the scrub does not stain my skin (or the bathroom tiles) and can be easily washed away.

before and after dissolving it in water
I wash myself first with a shower gel or soap and apply the scrub on damp skin. Make sure your skin is just damp and not sopping wet because the product will melt easily. Also, don't use on open wounds because this will hurt a lot. Remember, the scrub is basically salt. Lol.

The armpits and the bikini area have thinner skin than the rest of our body so I use very gentle circular motions when rubbing the scrub. The salt is fine but it has enough abrasiveness so you don't need to apply force.

Impressions

I use this product every other day and at the time of writing, I am on my second week of use.

It's an effective exfoliant - my skin feel super soft whenever I use this. It's also great in removing deodorant residue since my underarms look a lot clearer than before although I haven't seen significant whitening results yet. So far, I'm happy with the product and will continue using it. Will update this post once I empty the pouch.

Have you tried this product? What are your kili-kili whitening secrets? Let me know!

Active White Bleaching Soap Review
WHAT: Active White Bleaching Soap Skin Whitener with Glutathione, 135g
PRICE & WHERE: 89 PHP at Watson's Ph
I love going outside, participating in hikes or generally just traipsing about being one with nature. Even though I wear sunscreens, I still get tan especially on my arms and face resulting in uneven skin tone all over my body. My solution? Good old whitening soaps!

I decided to purchase Active White Bleaching Soap because it looks the most potent among the other whitening soaps in Watson's. Did it work? Read on to find out!

About the Product

Active White Bleaching Soap Review
I cut the soap in half just in case it melts easily
Product Description:
A great soap for dark and discolored skin. Target problem spots and combat hyperpigmentation with this special intense whitening soap that combines a bleaching formula with glutathione. Have smooth and fair skin that glows.

Ingredients:
Coconut oil, Caustic Soda, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Silicate, Castor Oil, Cocomide DEA, Scent, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Milk Extract, Phenoxythanol, L-Glutathione, Beta Arbutin, De-Ionized Water

The soap uses L-Glutathione as its main selling point but looking at the ingredient list, it also contains other effective whitening ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA like glycolic, lactic, and citric acid) is great for skin renewal while milk and arbutin have proven whitening benefits too.

My Experience

The soap has a yellowish tinge with lavender swirls in it. It is almost unscented since the added fragrance is super mild. The soap is very bubbly and does not melt easily. The whole bar lasted two months of daily usage for me!

When using whitening soaps, I usually let the lather stay on my skin for around two to five minutes. It didn't sting the whole time I was using it even if I go beyond my self-imposed limits. After rinsing the bubbles off, my skin feels squeaky clean.

Downside: the soap is super drying for me. I chalk it to the AHA which facilitates skin rejuvenation. Sure enough, in less than a week, I was micropeeling. Tip: use a moisturizing lotion for hydration plus sunscreen to protect the new skin!

Active White Bleaching Soap Review
Before and After. Two months apart.
Same camera settings but lighting is a bit different (noon vs 3pm light).
The soap lasted two months of daily use and after one bar, I still think I am tan! Haha. However, I do think my skin has lightened a lot. I don't look as dark and the pinkish gray cast is not there anymore.

Verdict

I still have a lot of soaps in my stash so I probably won't be repurchasing but I think this is an effective whitening soap with a very reasonable price. It's highly-drying so it's probably not for those with dry or sensitive skin. Make sure to pamper your skin afterwards!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo Review
WHAT: Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo, 300ml
PRICE & WHERE: 380 PHP at Althea PH
Hey, guys! Today I'm sharing with you my impressions about the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo. This is one of Althea's best sellers (with lots of great feedback) so I decided to try it myself too.

Product Description:
Innisfree’s Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo is a sebum-control hair wash that is formulated with a combination of Jeju green tea and mint extracts, and lathers up richly to remove dirt off your scalp and hair. It is also silicone-free, so you don’t have to worry about your hair being dried out. Instead, it provides your scalp and hair with the hydration it needs. Of course, its minty formulation gives off a tingly sensation that both feels refreshing and smells amazing after!

How to Use:
Pour an adequate amount onto wet hair, and lather up. Gently massage your scalp, making sure to let the lather run down to the ends of your hair. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Ingredients:
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Polyquaternium-10, Polyquaternium-7, Glycol Distearate, Menthol, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Panthenol, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Orchid Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate

According to Althea, this clarifying shampoo is suitable for all hair types and will leave the hair feeling light and the scalp refreshed. The key ingredients are (1) green tea extract which is rich in amino acids and minerals to ensure hair stays moisturized and healthy and (2) mint extracts which refreshes the scalp and removes odour while controlling excess sebum.

Here's the Cosdna Analysis of the ingredients. Don't use if you are allergic or sensitive to any of the components!

My Experience

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo Review
the back of the product
The shampoo comes in this gigantic 300 ml mint-green bottle. It utilizes a push button cap which makes it easy to dispense product when you're in the bath.

The shampoo smells strongly like mint with a hint of green tea - like an old lady with a lot of joint pains. You know those who apply medicated liniments a lot? Haha! Well, I may be exaggerating but the scent reminds me of something like that. Hahaha! It's tolerable for me though. Good thing the scent is not as strong when you rinse it out.

I have super thin, straight hair so I only wash my hair every other day. This shampoo proves to be an effective cleanser - just a little bit is enough to remove dirt and grime. It lathers a lot and makes a lot of foam. However, the shampoo is runny so I always end up using more than necessary.

Something that I really like about this shampoo is the super cooling sensation it gives when applied. Very refreshing to use especially during summer! After rinsing the lather out, my hair feels super clean. Once dry, my hair is super smooth, bouncy and soft to touch.

Verdict

This is a mild shampoo that doesn't dry out my scalp. It's suitable for daily use but honestly, I don't think everyone will like the scent. Personally, I won't repurchase since I'm still on the lookout for better hair care products for my hair type.

Have you tried this product? If not, you can get this on Althea PH for only 380 Php or at StyleKorean for only 7.50 USD (390 PHP). Let me know about your experience!
