In this post, I'll share my thoughts about Mediheal's AirGuard Foilab Whiteful Mask. I have recently tried the Silver Foilab version (read it here first!) and unfortunately, it didn't wow me at all. I decided to use this as soon as possible so I can compare what is better between the two.

More About the Product

What: Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Whiteful Mask (click the pic to see the full size!)
Price & Where I Got It: 189 PHP at Watson's
The Whiteful mask is made of a special three-layer fabric. It's made of cotton on one side, gold powder in the middle plus a TPU film on top. Because of how it's made, the mask will prevent the essence from evaporating and will trap it in, meaning more of the nutritional ingredients will be absorbed.

INGREDIENTS:
Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Water, Methyl Gluceth-20, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glycereth-26, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Trideceth-10, Veronica Officinalis Extract, Honey Extract, Ascophyllum Nodosum Extract, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Fruit Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Primula Veris Extract, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Tromethamine, Alcohol, Fragrance

Mediheal's Whiteful mask contains 70% Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate. It's the stuff you get by fermenting and filtering yeast and it acts as a skin-conditioning agent and humectant. Other ingredients that stood out to me include niacinamide and the twelve (twelve!!!) plant extracts inside. Don't use if you are allergic or sensitive to yeast, the plants or the rest of the ingredients. Here's the Cosdna analysis of the ingredients for a closer look of their functions.

My Experience

The mask feels like a foam sheet except it is very thin like a regular cotton mask. Like the silver version, it comes in two pieces.  I don't know what happened but this mask fits my face so much better! Take a look at the difference:
The masks are literally and exactly the same shape, cut and size. Why is the fit so different?
I was expecting the fit to be terrible but it's not. I look like a proper golden robot instead of a crumpled tin can and that immensely added positive points to my experience. Yes, I am a child. 😁

It only contains 17ml but since the fit is more secure, it slid around less and stuck better to my face too. I was able to keep this on for 20 minutes before it won't stick anymore. I removed the mask after a total of 30 minutes.

It felt hot from all the moisture and heat being trapped inside but it is tolerable. After I removed the mask, the cool air was so refreshing. My skin was also very moist from the essence. I patted and rubbed it in for a few minutes before it all got absorbed.

Results

I'm looking for brightening results since this is a "whiteful" mask. Nice to report that my face did look radiant and dewy after taking the mask off. It's dries non sticky too and that is a great plus for me since I dislike masks that give me that sticky feeling. My skin also felt plump and nicely moisturized.

I like this mask so much better than the silver version!

Verdict

Mediheal's Foilab masks may be more expensive than regular fiber masks but it's one of the least expensive foil masks I've seen (most usually cost 250 PHP up). Overall, I'd recommend this to people looking for something fun and unique. If you can't decide which one to get between the two, get the gold!

Have you tried this foil mask? Let me know if you have any questions!

The packaging looks professional and medical. It conveys the feeling that it's something you can trust. The back of the packaging is overflowing with information but since this is made in SK, everything's written in Korean except for the product name & ingredients list.

For those who are not familiar with the brand, Mediheal is indeed founded by beauty professionals. Their products are developed by a dedicated team of skin experts & dermatologists from the prestigious medical beauty school in Seoul University, Korea.

My Experience

Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Waterful Mask Review
Peeking inside. No extra essence.
The mask contains only 17ml of clear essence. The mask was wet but IMO, it's not drenched enough. The mask was not very juicy.

Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Waterful Mask Review

This is a 3-layer mask - one side is cotton, the other side is a silver TPU film and sandwiched in between is the silver powder.

It comes in two pieces to fit the face better but it's not for me. See pic below. The cut was too long in the forehead area, same in the chin part plus it's too loose in the nose. There is so much extra material. Overall, terrible fit. 😞
whhhyyyy
With only 17ml inside, the adherence wasn't good. It kept coming loose even with minimal movement. Btw, the outer part looks like silver foil but it feels like a very thin foam sheet (the ones you use in crafts).

The mask is designed to keep the essence from drying out but that also means sweat and heat is also trapped in. It was hot - maybe that's the "spa" part they're talking about.

Combining all three (terrible fit, bad adherence & muggy mask) made for a not very relaxing experience. I only kept this on for the minimum 10 mins before I gave up and took it off.

Results?

For Wrinkle Care: no smoothing results I can see.
For Brightening: the mask left a dewy finish (which is very sticky btw) but I don't think I look particularly glowy/radiant.
For Hydration: my skin was moisturized but it's not as "waterful" as it claimed. I expected skin that is plump, bouncy and soft as a baby's butt but it did not deliver. I have tried better masks for less the price.

Final Verdict

Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Waterful Mask Review

This was a let down on all fronts. This is pricier than normal Mediheal masks (189 Php vs 70-120 Php) so I expected more from this. The fit and cling was bad and that spoiled my enjoyment. It made my skin hydrated but its moisturizing power was average at best. Will not repurchase.

Naruko AMPM Super Triple HA Night Gelly Review

Hi, guys! Gonna share with you this product I'm loving so much lately - it's the AMPM Super Triple HA Night Gelly from Naruko! I only got the 15ml jar since I don't wanna commit (lol) but this product really impressed me! Read more to see why.

About The Product

Naruko AMPM Super Triple HA Night Gelly Review
the front and back of the 15ml jar
Naruko's pretty famous for their night gellies. I've been eyeing them for a while now (particularly the tea tree variant) but I decided to try this one first because I'm looking for something moisturizing. Hyaluronic acid is a well-known moisture magnet and that "super triple HA" claim looks very promising to me.

According to Naruko's description, this night gelly contains small, medium and large molecules of hyaluronic acid to effectively replenish, store and lock water to our skin. It will smooth lines, improve dryness and make skin moist and tender. It is suitable for people of all skin types, especially for those who have dry, thirsty skin!

Ingredients:
Purified Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Niacinamide, Arginine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Alcohol, Glycosphingolipids, Hordeum Vulgare Extract, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide-3, Ceramide 6 II, Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, Sodium Lauroyl Lactate, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Snow Fungus (Tremella Fuciformis) Extract, Essential Oils of Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus), Marjoram (Origanum Marjorana), Thyme (Thymus Vulgaris), Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis), Ho Wood (Cinnamomum Camphora)

How to Use:
After cleansing and basic skincare at night, use a spatula to take out an amount equivalent to two soybeans and then spread evenly to skin.

The jar has manufacturing and expiry dates at the bottom.
It is sealed before I opened it.

Experience

I use this as the last step in my routine. Naruko's night gellies work like sleeping masks so there is no need to rinse it off. It is almost scent-free except for a barely there minty fragrance which I think comes from the Eucalyptus oil.
Naruko AMPM Super Triple HA Night Gelly Review
amazing absorption!
This product applies wonderfully! It starts as a gel and turns watery once you spread it around. After about 30 seconds, it sinks in completely. It leaves no visual trace. My skin looks matte but it feels extremely soft and plump - better than the results I get whenever I do sheet masks. In fact, whenever I feel lazy, I just tone after cleansing and use this gelly.

This layers well with other products too. If I use a sheet mask that leaves a tacky feeling, putting this on top will help eliminate the stickiness. Even if I accidentally apply too much, it quickly absorbs into my skin as shown above. It is light and non-greasy but still gives you the whole moisturizing shebang. Totally love this!

I only use it at night and my 15g jar lasted two and a half weeks for me. It costs 161 PHP - in my opinion, very affordable and super worth the price! This is also available in 118g tub which retails for 1061 PHP.

Verdict

10/10 Would definitely buy again and will recommend! My positive experience makes me wanna try Naruko's other products as soon as I can. If you can find it, give it a try.

And that brings me to my only complaint - why is this super hard to find?! There's no Naruko outlets near me (not even in Watson's!) so I have to look for this online. However, it's always out of stock on the Naruko.ph website and other online stores. 💀 Will still buy if I catch it on stock.

Have you tried this? How's your experience?

New product launches, holiday sales and limited time promos - while all these may be tempting, I promised myself I will stop from needless spending. I challenged myself to declutter and clear all my half-empty products first before opening or buying a new item. This is the result of my efforts for the month of August!

If you follow me on Instagram, you  may have read the following mini reviews. I'm posting it here for posterity.

Bath & Body Product Empties

(1) Palmolive White+Milk Body Wash (2) Vaseline Healthy White Serum (3)Bench Perfect Skin Deo Spray (4) Calmia Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Foam (5) Rexona Motionsense Advanced Whitening Deo (6) Nivea Extra White Lotion
In order: (1) Palmolive White+Milk Body Wash (2) Vaseline Healthy White Serum
(3)Bench Perfect Skin Deo Spray (4) Calmia Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Foam
(5) Rexona Motionsense Advanced Whitening Deo (6) Nivea Extra White Lotion
1) Palmolive White+Milk Body Wash (80PHP | 200ml)
-Got this for free from Sample Room PH along with its soap version. The bodywash is not stripping & made my skin soft. It has a STRONG milky baby powder fragrance which I find relaxing but may not be for everyone. Will repurchase (RP).

2) Vaseline Healthy White Serum (99PHP | 70ml)
-Claims to lighten skin but honestly, I don't think it did. It's good if you just need something for light moisture. It's non-greasy & doesn't feel sticky - great for PH weather! The added SPF30 PA++ is a bonus. RP 👍

3) Bench Perfect Skin Deo Spray (120PHP | 100ml)
-Aluminum chlorohydrate & triclosan are the active ingredients. It has a floral fragrance, and contains good amount for the price. It also has good odor protection but I really dislike the aerosol formulation! It creates this noxious cloud of deo that makes me cough & sneeze. Will not repurchase (WNR).

4) Calmia Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Foam (160PHP | 150ml)
-Got this inside one of Althea's curated beauty boxes. Despite the name, it doesn't smell like oatmeal. The scent is chemical-ish. It reminds me of meds and hospitals. It removed makeup well but it made my face feel squeaky. I tested the pH level & the result was a high 8.4 pH. Boo! 👎 It's such a big tube so I emptied this by using it as a brush cleanser. WNR.

5) Rexona Motionsense Advanced Whitening Deo (89PHP | 50ml)
-Aluminum chlorohydrate is the active ingredient. Scent is nice but it takes too long to dry. It's not enough to stop odor at the end of the day. When showering, the residue is very hard to remove. WNR.

6) Nivea Extra White Lotion (around 200PHP | 250ml)
-Got this last April to help fade a tan but I see no lightening results after two months. No SPF protection too. This took a while to empty bc I keep reaching for another brand instead. If you disregard the "Extra White" claim & just think of it as a plain lotion, it's not bad. It sinks in easily, feels light and doesn't feel sticky when I get sweaty. May RP.

Hair Care Empties

Palmolive Healthy & Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner (3) CreamSilk Standout Straight Conditioner (4) Bench Fix Shampoo & Dash Dry Shampoo (5) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Superwash (6) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Conditioner
In order: (1-2) Palmolive Healthy & Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
(3) CreamSilk Standout Straight Conditioner (4) Bench Fix Shampoo & Dash Dry Shampoo
(5) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Superwash (6) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Conditioner
1) Palmolive Healthy & Smooth Set (96.50 PHP | 180ml Shampoo & 92.50 PHP | 180ml Conditioner)
-This duo made my fine thin hair *feel* thicker somehow & it didn't make my scalp itchy. However, the conditioner is not moisturizing enough plus I dislike the "aloe" scent. It smells so artificial. Got this for free from Sample Room PH. I most likely won't purchase it myself.

2) CreamSilk Standout Straight Conditioner (149 PHP | 180 ml)
-Grabbed this after I ran out of conditioner. This used to be my go-to when I had rebonded straight hair but now that I'm growing out my wavy hair, I don't think it's compatible. It made my hair frizzy and flat plus it's hard to rinse off. WNR

3) Bench Fix Shampoo & Dash Dry Shampoo (175 PHP | 100 ml)
-This works more like a deodorizer. It smells great and removed odors but it's not that good for absorbing oils. WNR

4) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Superwash (345 PHP | 50 ml)
-You can use this on your hair + body. As a shampoo, it's a bit stripping (my hair felt squeaky after rinsing it off) but as a body wash, it's rich, creamy and very moisturizing! It smells like coconuts, lathers a lot, removes that grimy feeling & washes off immediately! I enjoyed using this and may RP but holy... the price (for such a tiny amount) is a huge deterrent :o

5) VMV Essence Skin-Saving Conditioner (345 PHP | 50 ml)
-Super love this! It made my hair feel super soft and silky ❤ Coconut oil is one of the main ingredients and it smells like it. The conditioner is creamy, heavy and very hydrating but it's also somehow lightweight and non-greasy! My hair feels like it's absorbing everything in! Unlike other conditioners that leave a residue, this one won't. It washes off easily. May RP but like the VMV superwash, it's one biggest con is the price. 😭 VMV is the most expensive on this list & it's also the tiniest. Just look at the pic. 😅 👀

And that's it! Will try to empty even more products next month! I have a lot to declutter. Don't worry, I'll still do individual product reviews. In fact, I have a lot of pending drafts. Just need to add pictures, haha.

See you next time!

Hiddencos Latte Sheet Mask Review
What: Hiddencos Latte Sheet Mask
Price & Where: 120PHP at Althea PH
I'm a sucker for pretty packaging. Just look at this product. Isn't it cute? As a coffee lover, that latte cup design really pulled me in. It called me! This is the Latte Mask from Hiddencos and it contains premium Arabica coffee extracts.

Read on to see if putting coffee juice on your face is worth it. 😂

About the Product

Hiddencos Latte Sheet Mask Review
Front and back of the mask (click to see full size!)
The info on the back is written all in Korean except for the ingredients list.
The product description at Althea claims that coffee is good for maintaining beautiful skin - caffeine is supposed to improve wrinkles, scars and recover skin elasticity. Aside from coffee extract, other notable ingredients include niacinamide for skin brightening, adenosine for skin firming and patented phyto-oligo ingredients to fill the skin with moisture.

How to Use:
1. Cleanse your skin before using the mask.
2. Apply the mask evenly across your face.
3. Remove the mask after 20-30 minutes.
4. After removing the mask, lightly tap the remaining essence on your face.
Hiddencos Latte Sheet Mask Review
Here is the full ingredients list. (Cosdna analysis)
Don't use the mask if you are allergic or sensitive to any of the them!
I was greeted by the scent of latte as soon as I opened the pack. It smelled amazing - like a real latte! It's not very sharp like plain coffee - it is sweet and milky with a hint of vanilla. I love it. I have to fight the urge to taste it. Yes. Don't judge me, haha.
Hiddencos Latte Sheet Mask Review
A look inside the pack
The pack contains 25g of essence. The texture is thick and not runny - kinda like a watered-down gel. The sheet mask inside is made of a thin, beige cotton material. It was very saturated but because of the consistency of the essence, it's not very drippy. There's still plenty of drops left on the pack. It's not enough to soak a dry, compressed mask so I just applied it back to the mask.

My Experience

The mask has this subtle, cooling effect. It's soothing. The overall fit is good. The eyes, nose and mouth holes were cut large and there are two slits in the chin area for adjustment. I wish they added more so that we can further adjust the shape but the slits are enough. There's only a couple of things I didn't like. The eyebrow part keep puffing up no matter how many times I smooth it down. The philtrum part is a bit long too. It covered half of my upper lip.
Hi.
That said, the cling is great!  It adhered to my face well (except the weird eyebrow part) and only started getting loose after 40 minutes. I removed the sheet mask shortly.

The essence took a while to get fully absorbed - I patted and rubbed it in for around 5 minutes before it finally dried out. It left a layer of oil. I checked the ingredients and there's canola oil, olive oil and macadamia seed oil in there. It's not very heavy but if you are acne-prone, you may want to tread carefully.
Oil layer on my fingers

Results

The mask is brightening and moisturizing. My face looked radiant and dewy immediately after and my skin felt so soft. It's a little bit tacky from the oil layer, but in the morning, the stickiness was gone. As for it's skin-firming claims, my skin looks plump from hydration but that's it. I don't think it reduced wrinkles. Note: I have combi skin. This mask didn't break me out.

Final Say:

This mask is  bit pricier than the masks I usually buy, but overall, I enjoyed using this. May RP. Coffee lovers, you need to try this at least once!

Tried this yet? How's your experience? If you want me to review something, just let me know!

Orange Peeling Lotion Review
What: Orange Peeling Lotion
Price & Where: 50 PHP from a Shopee seller
Hi, everyone. I have "farmer's tan" on my arms and face (kinda like Joe Jonas here) for as long as I can remember. I have experimented with lots of whitening soaps & lotions and while some of them did lighten my skin a little bit, my permatan looks like it's there to stay. I think I need something stronger. Enter this Orange Peeling Lotion.

I found this on Shopee. It claims that it will help rejuvenate the skin in less than a week by peeling dead and old skin to reveal whiter and smoother skin! Aside from that, it will whiten new scars, stretch marks, dark spots plus it claims that it's totally safe!

Too good to be true? Haha. Read more to learn how it performed. ;p

About the Product

I'll say this right from the start: this product is kinda sketchy. 😂 I can't find much info about the brand, the ingredients or the manufacturer (and reviews I can trust are really few) but this product still seems popular on Shopee anyway. I'm high-key hesitating but in the spirit of trying new stuff, I decided to buy a couple of bottles.

I've seen different kinds of orange peeling lotion but the one I got comes in a clear and quite flimsy 100ml plastic bottle with a flip cap. There is a sticker label on the front and an expiry date stamped at the bottom, but aside from that, no other information is included.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
the lotion is orange and has this tiny little bubbles spread all over
Did some googling and apparently, orange peeling lotions work similar to green peeling oils except it is in lotion form. Peeling oils contain AHAs/BHAs to increase the rate of skin renewal so this lotion should also contain some. The actual ingredients are not disclosed so use this at your own risk! Patch test first before using!

How To Use:
1) Apply the lotion on clean skin before bedtime.
            - Use the lotion generously & massage until it's totally absorbed.
            - Let dry and apply another layer after 15 minutes.
            - Let dry and apply another layer after 15 minutes.
            - Repeat until you have achieved 3 layers.
            - Go to sleep.
2) Repeat the step 1 the next night and the next night - total of 3 consecutive nights.
3) Skin will start peeling after 5-7 days.

Notes (tips from seller):
- You may take a bath but DO NOT SCRUB on the area where you applied the peeling lotion
- If redness or irritation occurs during peeling period, use hydrocortisone cream to relieve itching.
- DO NOT FORCE THE SKIN TO PEEL OFF, wait until your skin has loosened up from the new skin before peeling it off.
- Avoid too much exposure to sunlight during application, peeling stage and 1 week after peeling.
- Use high SPF lotions during daytime after peeling.
- 1 bottle is enough for both arms, 2 bottles for both legs and 4 bottles for the whole body.

My Experience

The product has a slightly fishy smell which confirms that this contains some AHA/BHA. The texture is on the watery side but despite how light it feels, it takes a while to absorb. I have to continuously massage it in for a few minutes. After it got absorbed, it did not feel sticky.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
The texture of the lotion. It dries matte once fully absorbed.
I saw pictures of people peeling their skin off like a sheet of paper (like this), so naturally, I also want to try that. 😂 To get the best results, the seller recommended not showering during the application and after the application until your skin peels.

I tried to follow it. I didn't shower/bath during the 3 days of application. The lotion got absorbed completely on the first day but after 3 days of piling on layer after layer, my skin formed what I call a "dried up crusty" layer.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
A part of my arm after 3 days of thick lotion layers, no showering.
Those are not dead skin cells btw. That's the lotion pilling up.
I applied the lotion thickly to use up 1 bottle for both arms as instructed and let me tell you - by the third day, my skin was so saturated that it won't absorb any more lotion. The lotion dried but if you apply another layer, it would pill up and form these nasty dead-skin looking little balls. You shouldn't confuse this with actual peeling skin.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
How could people finish one bottle for both arms in just 3 days? I couldn't.
I felt so grimy after 3 days so I caved in and showered like a normal person. I don't recommend not showering. It's not worth it. I won't do it again. 😂 Take note, you are actually free to shower. Just don't scrub the part where you applied lotion.

Peeling Process

My skin started peeling on the 4th day after my application. Before it started, my skin got drier, tighter and looked so wrinkly. I also noticed that I got 1-2 shades darker.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
The peeling started with my hands...
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
...followed by the thinner areas. (4th day after application, outside)
That's not dried lotion!
No stinging but my skin felt very itchy, especially the crook of my elbows. I can't resist scratching and the result is red, irritated skin. Don't scratch!
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
So itchy! I tried my best not to scratch it. (bathroom light)
The peeling process went on for a total of 8 days for me. There are tiny dry patches left during the last few days so I just scrubbed it off with a loofah.

Results?

It's actually effective in peeling skin. However, I'm here for lightening and I don't think it did anything in that area.
Orange Peeling Lotion Review
The new skin looked lighter (6th day, indoor light)
If you see the pic above, you might think the product actually lightened my skin. However, remember this made my skin darker before it peeled off! The new skin looks the same shade before I used this lotion. No changes. My arms still look uneven like this.

Will I Recommend?

Personally, I won't use this again. It did not lighten my skin like it claimed it would plus it's very time consuming. It is also a hassle since I have to hide peeling skin by wearing long-sleeved shirts.
Another great con is the mystery ingredients and manufacturer.

Results vary per person so if you still wanna try this, I won't stop you. I experienced no bad effects except for the temporary darkening and itchiness. It's affordable and won't hurt your purse.

Tried this? How's your experience?
