Lindsay Energizing Gold Modeling Mask Review

Lindsay Energizing Gold Modeling Mask Review
I've used modeling masks before and I like the results but I tend to avoid them because they can get very messy. I haven't tried one in a while so I thought I'll try again last weekend. Here's my review for Lindsay's Energizing Gold Modeling Mask!

About the Product

Lindsay Energizing Gold Modeling Mask Review
WHAT: Lindsay Energizing Gold Modeling Mask, 26g
PRICE & WHERE: 100 Php at Watson's
The Lindsay All-in-One Energizing Gold Modeling Mask comes in this foil pouch that can stand up on its own. Isn't it pretty eye-catching? It looks cute. Anyway, it's a premium modeling mask that uses colloidal gold extract to calm irritated skin and rejuvenate an exhausted, depleted complexion with a deep dose of hydration. It's free from parabens and mineral oil according to Glow Recipe.

Ingredients:
Diatomaceous Earth, Glucose, Algin, Calcium Sulfate, Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate, Magnesium Carbonate, Allantoin, Potassium Alginate, Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Gold, Cellulose Gum, Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, CI 77491, Titanium Dioxide, CI 77492, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate,Fragrance

How to Use:
1) Please pat the pouch to place the powder on the bottom.
2) Outspread the bottom and tear off the upper side of the pouch.
3) Add water to fill your cup just below the given line on the cup
4) Stir the concoction with spatula until a thick, gummy texture forms
5) Apply a thicker layer to the edges of the face so that you can easily lift and peel it off
6) Leave on for 15-60 minutes until the texture of the mask becomes rubbery.
7) Slowly peel off the mask starting from the bottom.

My Experience

You're supposed to pour water until the given line on the pack but it's actually hard to gauge because the packaging is not transparent. Anyway, this is a single-use pack but there's so much product inside! Using the spatula included, I counted about 8 scoops of powder. It looks like it will create a lot of leftovers so I halved the mixture.

Love the spatula tbh - I kept it for powder clay masks

Tada. I use the flat side for mixing.
The mixture above is four scoops of the powder plus about 3 scoops of water. I added a little bit more water until the mixture looks like it can be spread evenly.

I applied the mixture first on my forehead and as you can see, it looks pretty great. Next, I applied some on my cheeks, nose and then my mouth area. There still a bit left on my bowl so I decided to put it on my mouth area to reduce waste. Not recommended - the mask has started drying and it roughed up the even texture. If you want to put everything on your face, you must apply it fast and make sure you don't go over the same spot twice.

after 15 minutes on my face
The mask had a very cooling sensation. It so happened that I applied this during noon time and seriously, it was lit. 🔥 There's no tingling or any itchiness that usually accompany the "cooling" effect on most masks. It's just plain refreshing. I felt so energized!
after 35 minutes
I removed the mask after a total of 35 minutes on my face. The thicker parts were so easy to remove but you need more effort for the thinner ones. There's bits and pieces left so I used a damp towel to remove all the residue.

I get why they say you must apply thick layers. The mouth area where I applied quite thinly was the first part that disintegrated. The thin edges got lighter, cracked and fell off when it dried up but the thicker parts stayed yellow and looked rubbery.  Apply thickly, guys!

Results

Love the immediate effects I can see and feel after taking the mask off - my skin looks mattified but it's still bright and feels super soft! The hydration lasts long too. My skin still feels supple & moisturized the next morning. Thumbs up!

Verdict

Like I said in the beginning, the biggest con of modeling masks is the mess. This may not be for people who just want to relax and skip the whole process of mixing, applying plus cleaning up.

Personally, I think this is a good mask to try every now and then. It's affordable too. I got mine for only a hundred pesos and even if I didn't split the pack in two, the results are still worth the price. This takes more effort than regular sheet masks but as the saying goes, "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga." Overall, would repurchase and recommend!
