Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Whiteful Mask Review

In this post, I'll share my thoughts about Mediheal's AirGuard Foilab Whiteful Mask. I have recently tried the Silver Foilab version (read it here first!) and unfortunately, it didn't wow me at all. I decided to use this as soon as possible so I can compare what is better between the two.

More About the Product

What: Mediheal AirGuard Foilab Whiteful Mask (click the pic to see the full size!)
Price & Where I Got It: 189 PHP at Watson's
The Whiteful mask is made of a special three-layer fabric. It's made of cotton on one side, gold powder in the middle plus a TPU film on top. Because of how it's made, the mask will prevent the essence from evaporating and will trap it in, meaning more of the nutritional ingredients will be absorbed.

INGREDIENTS:
Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Water, Methyl Gluceth-20, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glycereth-26, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Trideceth-10, Veronica Officinalis Extract, Honey Extract, Ascophyllum Nodosum Extract, Saussurea Involucrata Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Fruit Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract, Primula Veris Extract, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Tromethamine, Alcohol, Fragrance

Mediheal's Whiteful mask contains 70% Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate. It's the stuff you get by fermenting and filtering yeast and it acts as a skin-conditioning agent and humectant. Other ingredients that stood out to me include niacinamide and the twelve (twelve!!!) plant extracts inside. Don't use if you are allergic or sensitive to yeast, the plants or the rest of the ingredients. Here's the Cosdna analysis of the ingredients for a closer look of their functions.

My Experience

The mask feels like a foam sheet except it is very thin like a regular cotton mask. Like the silver version, it comes in two pieces.  I don't know what happened but this mask fits my face so much better! Take a look at the difference:
The masks are literally and exactly the same shape, cut and size. Why is the fit so different?
I was expecting the fit to be terrible but it's not. I look like a proper golden robot instead of a crumpled tin can and that immensely added positive points to my experience. Yes, I am a child. 😁

It only contains 17ml but since the fit is more secure, it slid around less and stuck better to my face too. I was able to keep this on for 20 minutes before it won't stick anymore. I removed the mask after a total of 30 minutes.

It felt hot from all the moisture and heat being trapped inside but it is tolerable. After I removed the mask, the cool air was so refreshing. My skin was also very moist from the essence. I patted and rubbed it in for a few minutes before it all got absorbed.

Results

I'm looking for brightening results since this is a "whiteful" mask. Nice to report that my face did look radiant and dewy after taking the mask off. It's dries non sticky too and that is a great plus for me since I dislike masks that give me that sticky feeling. My skin also felt plump and nicely moisturized.

I like this mask so much better than the silver version!

Verdict

Mediheal's Foilab masks may be more expensive than regular fiber masks but it's one of the least expensive foil masks I've seen (most usually cost 250 PHP up). Overall, I'd recommend this to people looking for something fun and unique. If you can't decide which one to get between the two, get the gold!

Have you tried this foil mask? Let me know if you have any questions!
